Jan uses his extensive legal and scientific experience to structure and strengthen clients’ patent portfolios. He works with companies ranging from small biotechnology companies in the early stages of product development to large biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies with commercial products on the drafting and prosecution of patent applications. Jan has developed patent portfolios in various fields, including immunology, protein conjugates, and cancer therapeutics. He supports companies during investor due diligence and provides intellectual property landscape analyses. Jan also helps clients obtain trademark protection.
Jan’s scientific training included use of molecular biology and genetic techniques to understand regulation of the programmed cell death pathway. Jan also has experience with mammalian cell culture techniques and confocal microscopy.
Jan has co-authored an original research article published in Molecular Cell and a review article published in Genome Biology.
