Adil Zhugralin joined Clark+Elbing in 2013. His work involves the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, primarily in the fields of chemistry and biotechnology.
Adilís research focused on development of novel catalytic processes. In his doctoral studies, Adil developed methods and organometallic and metal-free catalysts in the areas of ruthenium-catalyzed olefin metathesis, copper-catalyzed hydroboration, and metal-free conjugate addition of boron-nucleophiles. He also contributed to mechanistic understanding in these fields. As a postdoctoral fellow at ETH Zurich, Adil focused on in silico and experimental gas- and solution-phase studies of transmetallation and migratory insertion reactions involving palladium(II) alkyl complexes. He has co-authored original research and scholarly review publications in several journals and books, including Nature; Journal of the American Chemical Society; and Angewandte Chemie.
